Proud to be a member of the Stratford Heritage Trail, Lilybank boasts a long tradition of the true Queensland lifestyle.

The tour was an initiative of the Stratford and Freshwater Community Association (SAFCA), the aim of the project was to engage the local community by recording and sharing our history. Funded through Q150, Cairns Regional Council and the sponsorship of local businesses, organisations, residents and SAFCA members, the Stratford Heritage Trail records and preserves the rich and diverse history of the area.

There are 29 marked sites on the Stratford Heritage Trail. You can browse through all of these sites here on the website, just use the menu links on the left. If you want to walk the trail, there is a map and introductory sign outside the Stratford Library on Kamerunga Road. The map and list of sites can be downloaded and printed for you to take with you on the walk.

Stratford is well known as the home to some of Cairns' most popular restaurants.  You'll find the five of them within a 2 to10 minute stroll from Lilybank.

Most of our local restaurants are B.Y.O. and our local hotel has a well stocked cellar

Lemongrass Restaurant -  Mediterranean with a touch of Asia.

Delicious!

The finest Asian food in Cairns is at the Garden Room Restaurant, just a hundred yards up the road

The Barron River Hotel and Rivers Wine Bar & Cafe.
Buy your wine etc. in the cellar and enjoy a meal at Rivers.

If you're here long enough to want a change from these, it's only a short bus or taxi ride into the city centre - we can recommend restaurants to suit every palate.

Getting to Lilybank from the Airport couldn't be easier - a 10 minute taxi ride for a cost of around $16.00 - and it's much the same from the bus and train terminals.
And once you're here, a regular bus service to the city centre goes right past our door, and that will also have you in City Place in around 10 minutes or so at a cost of around $2.60 per person.
